It felt good today

I cheated by exercising indoors today. Was it cold out? No…but I HATE that blasted wind. I walked for about an hour over at the school. I even got out my purple girly dumbbells and carried them around with me. That’s something I’d quit doing once I started running rather than walking. It felt good today. I think I’ll start packing them on my next outdoor run and see how it goes, although if they get too heavy I’d have to hide them in the ditch some place and come back for them.

Well, hope all is well with you. I’m still planning on a big lose for the Friday. Wish me luck and good luck to you as well!

  1. AHA! You weren't going to reveal the color of your weights, but you slipped! Mine are old, metal and a little rusty. Those are the 5-pounders. I don't take them walking. I have another set of hot pink 2-pounders that go on walks with me, but I actually haven't done that very many times.

One of our mutual friends pointed me to a nice 3.8 mile walk that has no dogs. Believe me, that's a trick here in dog town. I am glad you had a nice walk. It always feels good, at least for my morale!

I have been completely back on track with eating since Thursday. Thankfully, while I floundered, I didn't gain anything back. I didn't completely revert to my old ways, but I wasn't doing what I knew I should, either.

Exercise is a challenge, but I've been doing a little bit of that again this week, too. I feel better, and the numbers on the scale look better.

Nothing about this is easy. I have to take it one day at a time, and sometimes ten minutes at a time. When I get through a day and I have kept my commitment, then I breathe a sigh of relief. I hope that you can keep on with your goals. Remember that what you really want is way more rewarding than that momentary pleasure of eating. After you swallow, it's over. I always try to remember that my first reason for eating is to NOURISH my body. It's okay if it tastes good, but that should not be at the top of the list.

Good luck with the numbers on Friday!
